DIY Toolkit now available in Spanish

To date, the DIY Toolkit project has helped thousands of people with practical skills for innovation. It has also helped advance a big idea – that now is a time for innovation to be democratised and opened up to everyone. As part of that we are translating the toolkit into core international languages to give better access to many more people around the world.

This week we launched the Spanish DIY Toolkit website, which means that approximately 470 million people around the world can access the content in their native language. That number may be a little ambitious, but we hope that this version will help us to reach large new audiences from Latin America to the Philippines.

Over the last few months we have been working in close partnership with Laboratorio de Gobierno in Chile, León Felipe Irigoyen Morales at Universidad de Sonora and Qartuppi (both in Mexico) to translate the toolkit. We are sincerely grateful to them all for their support and time.

The Spanish version features all of the content that is available in the original PDF download, including 30 tool templates, 18 case studies and all the background reading on the underlying theory and management of the social innovation process. We want to build on this base layer with localised content, so if you are using the tools please do share your experiences and stories.

And we are continuing our work to open up the toolkit to international audiences. We will soon complement the Spanish version with translations in Mandarin, Arabic, French, Italian, Korean, Amharic and Polish. If you are interested in partnering with us on any other language, please do get in touch with [email protected].
