Bettany Hughes
Bettany Hughes is a Historian and Broadcaster. Following a scholarship to Oxford to read Ancient and Modern History she carried out her post-graduate research in the Balkans and Asia Minor. She is a Research Fellow of King's College, London.

Bettany lectures around the world in environments as diverse as US universities, International Embassies, Refugee Centres, The British Museum and cross-legged with seven-year-old children.
She is on the Steering Committee of the Foundation for Science, Technology and Civilisation and a member of the YouGov ThinkTank. She has written and presented documentary series for UK and International Television since 2000. It is estimated that her work has been watched by c.150 million worldwide. Her work on the perception of women over 3000 years - Helen of Troy:Goddess, Princess, Whore has now been translated into ten languages. She is currently writing a book on Socrates.
