Nesta, in partnership with the Technology Strategy Board and Creative Scotland have launched a programme entitled 'Destination Local' to identify the technologies, business models, content opportunities and challenges for a successful hyperlocal media sector in the UK.

We are looking for projects seeking seed funding of up to £50,000 to launch or grow existing hyperlocal media services in Scotland.   We are especially looking for projects delivering or seeking to deliver online news or content services for a town, village, single postcode or other small, geographically defined community.

This session provided an opportunity for potential Scottish applicants to learn more about the programme and if they might want to apply.  Speakers included Jon Kingsbury (Nesta Programme Director for Creative Economy) and Shaun Milne (Editor, STV Local).
