STEM education

The UK faces massive shortages of people with science, technology engineering and mathematical (STEM) training. So we are working with Teach First, to train a cohort of motivated science teachers in the very best ways of delivering engaging STEM learning experiences.

Our hope is that the young people who have attended lessons delivered by this cohort of teachers will go on to show enhanced interest and motivation in STEM topics and careers.

The project is taking place in three phases:

  1. identifying effective practice until end July 2010
  2. training Teach First science teachers at summer camp in August 2010
  3. then putting the techniques into practice in the academic year 2010/11
