Social Innovation Camp brings together social entrepreneurs, web developers, designers and other specialists to develop new ideas using social technology.
Over a single weekend, participants take initial ideas to tackle particular social needs and develop them into prototype solutions, using cutting-edge Web 2.0 tools.
The weekend finishes with a competition to decide on a winning project, which receives further start-up support.
Social Innovation Camp held its first Scotland camp in Glasgow from 19-21 June. The UK’s best software developers and designers had 48 hours to join forces with a group of social innovators to develop and build web-based solutions that address a particular social problem.

Social Innovation Camp was held for the first time in April 2008 at the Young Foundation in London. It was won by Enabled by Design, an online resource for anyone looking to make adjustments to their lives, be it as a result of disability, injury or impairment.
