Our Work

Meet the companies

Kempt

Kempt is a digital marketing agency specialising in the conception, production and promotion of advergames - an infectious form of interactive entertainment that companies can use to engage consumers online.

We are a leading agency in this rapidly emerging form of brand communications, and we are the brains behind some of the biggest advergame campaigns, such as King of Defenders, which has received over 50 million visits worldwide, with 3.7 million in the UK alone.

We have an in-house creative, strategy and production team, and we also run two large game portals: Tinymania.com and KillerViral.com, and MemeCounter.com - the most sophisticated system available for tracking Advergames.

We like to think of ourselves as experts on advergames. Oh, and just in case you wondered, we don’t actually have super powers... but we do have talent, bags of it in fact!

Revolution

Revolution Software is a video games developer based in York. Over the last two decades we have developed a number of highly successful adventure games for a range of different gaming platforms.

Our best known franchise, Broken Sword, sells up to one million units per version. We’ve retained ownership of the intellectual property (IP) in the games it has developed.

We greatly value the opportunity to be mentored by someone with considerable experience, who can help to identify the opportunities that are emerging in this unique commercial landscape.

Dynamo Games

Dynamo Games is a specialist mobile games developer dedicated to bringing the best quality games to the mobile platform.

It pushes mobile technology to the limits by bringing a new level of depth, excitement and attention to detail into mobile games for conversions of existing console and PC titles as well as new game concepts.

Our most recent games include Championship Manager; The Crystal Maze; and Football Tycoon. We are an Apple, Android, Nintendo and Sony approved developer.

We hope to achieve three aims out of the process: to streamline our productivity by identifying key processes within our development chain -  and document these; to secure more development work in the coming months; and to grow the company to allow a greater output of games.

Cohort Studios

Cohort Studios is games development and interactive entertainment studio, which specialise in next generation development partnerships. We’re based in Dundee, Scotland.

With a staff of just over 40, we offer a wealth of experience in all aspects of the game development process, from concept through to shipping.

Our team members have worked on some of the biggest franchises in the industry including Battlefield; Medal of Honour; Harry Potter; F1; Wipeout; Theme Park World; Syndicate; Crash; Goldeneye; Populous, Dungeon Keeper; Serious Sam; and FIFA.

Formed in 2006 by three directors with over 30 years combined industry experience, our first project involved assisting Sony Computer Entertainment Europe on the Motorstorm title for Playstation 3.

We followed this up by working on Go Puzzle!, for Playstation Network on both Playstation 3 and Playstation Portable. We also developed a small downloadable driving title, which was used on the website of the Audi TT.

We are currently working on a PlayStation 3 title and a number of other PlayStation Network titles for a major client.

We are looking to use the experience and knowledge of our mentor in assisting us in creating a long-term vision and plan for the company moving forwards.

Tag Games

Tag Games is a developer and publisher of games for mobile devices.

Founded in 2006, we quickly established a reputation for innovation in original game development, focusing on the needs of the mobile gamer, and providing games designed specifically for mobile play.

We are delighted to have been chosen for the NESTA mentoring program and expect to gain great benefit from working with such an experienced and skilled industry mentor, as we seek to improve performance across the company.

Much of the input so far has been on product development, which is timely and relevant, but we hope to move beyond that to discuss more strategic issues in the months ahead, in addition to opening up some wider business opportunities.

doublesix

doublesix is a game development studio focused on digital distribution.

We recently released Burn Zombie Burn for PSN. We’re also working on a high profile game for Microsoft based on the South Park licence, for release on XBLA later this year.

We’re working with NESTA to explore the exciting new business opportunities in the new space of digitally distributed video games.

GameWorld Seven

Gameworld Seven Ltd was founded back in 1997. We were lucky that when we started the company we had a wealth of experience and contacts under our belts.

Jon had more than a dozen years expo behind him in the film facilities and production industry and I had already spent around 12 years working in the games industry.

In its first 10 years of operating, we worked with dozens of developers and publishers. We provided solutions ranging from additional on-site staff for clients, right the way through to managing both our own internal teams as well as teams of freelancers up to 16 strong.

We worked with both Electronic Arts (Need for Speed Underground) and Microsoft (Project Gotham Racing 1, 2 and 3), as well as on several Sony products.

We’re proud to boast that at least 26 million people across the world drive cars, in car and racing games made by us.
