Games mentoring

Our games mentoring pilot investigated how best to support video games developers to improve their business skills and commercial awareness.

Over a period of one year, we tested the value of mentoring as a tool to support business growth in the video games sector by matching video games experts to a UK video games developer. The company met their mentor on average 1-2 days per month for one year.

The pilot was designed to:

  • Develop a method of support for mentors as they engage with creative businesses
  • Develop an effective and transferable model of how to match businesses with appropriate mentors
  • Encourage sector trade associations, economic agencies, RDAs and private organisations to replicate NESTA's support
