Visits to high-end manufacturing units have been useful in identifying a number of common issues. Most of the manufacturing units have been set up by highly skilled practitioners who have a solid foundation and knowledge of the garment making industry.
Many are masters in pattern cutting and making-up but have a limited knowledge of the current machinery market and how to purchase new equipment. This Toolkit is designed to provide advice and support in assessing the viability of existing machinery in a manufacturing unit, which may be inefficient in terms of both labour saving and quality.
