The Brilliant Club is a non-profit organisation that widens access to top universities for outstanding students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Brilliant Club believes the simple, scalable and sustainable way to widen access to selected universities is to train and place PhD students to deliver programmes of university-style tutorials to small groups of high performing pupils attending schools in challenging circumstances.

This provides pupils with ongoing support that has a core focus on developing skills and raising attainment, and is designed to translate academic potential into places at top universities in the UK.

The Brilliant Club also provides a programme of age-appropriate information, advice and guidance that helps pupils to make informed choices about university and offers them support with the UCAS application process.

Launched in 2011 by Jonathan Sobczyk and Simon Coyle, The Brilliant Club now works with 25 schools across London and is working on pilot programmes to expand its reach into other regions.
