Graeme Downie, NESTA Communications Manager for Scotland said: "We welcome the Christie Commission's vision for public services built around people and communities with an expanded role for front-line staff.
"NESTA’s programmes such as Age Unlimited Scotland and the Big Green Challenge show that there is a vast untapped reserve of creative ideas in communities around Scotland which, if supported correctly from central Government, could deliver the kind of local, joined-up services envisaged by the Commission.
"Through the 'Radical Scotland' report NESTA published in October 2010 and our work with the Commission over the past few months, we have also emphasised the need to prioritise prevention and look forward to working with the Scottish Government and other public bodies in Scotland to find ways to make that a reality.”
