Melissa joined Nesta in January 2013 as an intern in the Digital Education team, where she is exploring how to better utilise existing technologies to make teaching and learning more effective and fun. Her experience with digital education includes a project in Colombia creating an online tool to help under-resourced teachers better plan and activate their classes.
Prior to joining Nesta, Melissa spent five years consulting on teacher professional development, curriculum design, and developed and managed educational programs in Japan, the United States, and Latin America. Melissa has also worked as a classroom teacher, and has a Master's degree in International Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Melissa recently moved to London, and spends her spare time exploring the city, meeting people through volunteer activities, and going salsa dancing.
