Jonathan Drori

Jon joined Nesta in January 2012 as an Associate working on the Digital Education programme. Jon advises the Boards of national institutions and public bodies on creative and outreach strategies, and the design and management of projects incorporating new media and technology to provide public services. Jon works both as a consultant and also as mentor and 'critical friend' with politicians and senior officials. He has given strategic advice to the boards of many of the UK's, and Ireland's, most respected cultural, scientific and educational institutions.

Jon is a Trustee of The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, The Woodland Trust, and Wildscreen. He is Chairman of RBG Kew Enterprises, the Wingate Foundation and the UK Parliament's Speaker's Advisory Council on Public Engagement. As Visiting Industrial Professor at Bristol University, Jon specialises in science misconceptions and the uses of technology in education.

Previously, Jon was Director of Culture Online - a large Government programme to engage new audiences with art and culture using new techniques - where his team won many international awards and citation from the National Audit Office for the management of risk and innovation. Jon was Head of Commissioning for BBC Online which grew under his leadership to be Europe's most popular content website, winning awards for design and navigation as well as editorial quality. Before that, he was Head of Digital Media and Learning Channels for BBC Education.

He was awarded a CBE in 2006.
