Jackie McKenzie

Jackie joined Nesta in 2006 to design and set up Nesta's creative start-up programme Starter for 6. The programme was adopted by Creative Scotland to support creative businesses in Scotland and is now delivered by the Cultural Enterprise Office in Scotland.

Jackie manages the Dundee-based team and Nesta's varied work streams in Scotland. She talks of the Scottish team as a 'do tank'- putting into trial innovative programmes to test the best model of innovation and then capturing the learning to disseminate this for wider benefit. This includes Nesta's work with the creative and cultural industries, including work across the UK in the video games sector and programmes supporting public services innovation- ageing, open data, digital education.

Jackie has extensive experience in business incubation, economic development, digital media and video games, Higher Education and the not-for profit sectors.
