Paul Vickery is an experienced entrepreneur and founder of two solar cell companies.
He is currently Chairman and Founder of Oxford Photovoltaics, a new commercial spin out from Oxford University, aiming to bring to market a solar cell which uses standard processes to print onto glass creating tinted windows which can produce solar power. He is also the Founder of Quantasol Limited which was a spin out of Imperial College in 2006, has raised £7m and manufactures high concentration solar cells.
Paul is an experienced investor and works as a venture partner for NESTA’s £50million Venture Capital Fund. As well as being a professional investor, Paul has a background in venture capital and was a Director of 3i plc and a Managing Director of 3i’s activities in Japan. He is a regular conference speaker and a member of the Carbon Connect panel led by Lord Teverson investigating how the private sector can be encouraged to reduce carbon emissions.
He has a BSc in Production Engineering from Strathclyde University and a Diploma in Japanese and Business Studies.
