Mahmoda joined Nesta in December 2011 where her work is mainly focused on the provision of logistical and practical support to the Centre for Challenge Prizes.
Prior to joining Nesta, Mahmoda worked at OmniCompete managing the execution of numerous prize competitions. In particular she was the project manager for the Cyber Security Challenge 2011 which aimed to stimulate and engage emerging, innovative technologies and research ideas to solve the problem of data leakage. She has also worked on Energy Storage Challenge and The Global Security Challenge internationally.
Mahmoda has a background in marketing and project management and has held roles at Wallpaper* Magazine and Formosa Films. She has experience working in the advertising and production industry and has an interest in consumer behaviour and online marketing.
Mahmoda holds a BSc (Hons) in Management with Marketing from Royal Holloway, University of London and wrote a first class dissertation on 'The evaluation of the influence celebrity magazines have upon consumers' decision-making'.
