Sir David Henshaw is currently Chairman of NHS North West, and was previously Chief Executive of Liverpool City Council and Chief Executive of Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council.
He has also been a past President of the Society of Local Authority Chief Executives, a Non Executive Director of the Home Secretary's National Offender Management Board (Prisons, Probation and Youth Justice in England and Wales), and an adviser to the Cabinet Office Strategy Unit and the Prime Minister's Delivery Unit. Sir David was also a member of the HM Treasury Public Services Productivity Panel.
Born and educated in Liverpool, he obtained a degree at Sheffield in Public Administration, and then a Master's Degree in Social Sciences at the University of Birmingham.
He is currently Chair of NESTA's Public Services Innovation Lab Board and the Innovation Programmes Committee.
