Dr Michelle Harrison

Michelle is the CEO of TNS BMRB, the leading social research agency. She works with her clients across Whitehall on work related to understanding social change, and improving public services.

She regularly facilitates high level policy and strategy meetings across Whitehall. She has enjoyed facilitating many large scale public consultation programmes on behalf of government Ministers and for the Office of the Prime Minister. She is a regular media commentator on issues to do with public opinion and electoral research.

She was previously a Director of The Henley Centre where she worked as a consultant to business and government.

Michelle is a council member of the Food Ethics Council. She was previously a Trustee of the charity Involve. She has sat on numerous public bodies and commissions, including most recently the Green Fiscal Commission (2006-2009).

Michelle completed a PhD  and a post-doctoral research fellowship.  She is the author of King Sugar: Jamaica, the Caribbean and the World Sugar Economy (New York University Press 2001); and the co-author of Consuming Interests (UCL Press 2000).  In the late 1990s, was an Associate Lecturer at the Open University in Development Studies.
